Driving and parking in Toledo

When you’ve already got your rental car and can start your trip around the beautiful city of Toledo, the most important thing to remember is the fact that traffic is generally restricted in the Old Town. This means that you’ll have to find a safe parking spot outside of the central area and walk to see the most popular landmarks in the city. Motorists aren’t allowed to enter most of the narrow alleys near the central district as these are to be used only by the residents of the streets. However, there exist a number of parking options that will help you to avoid difficult road situations.

These include underground car parks and municipal car parks. Parking on the streets is also possible in Toledo. It’s, however, vital to remember that the city has introduced two parking zones. They operate from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 2 pm and between 5 pm and 8 pm and on Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm. 

In blue zones, you can stay for as long as 2 hours, whereas in orange zones, the maximum stay time is unlimited. The parking rate is €0.85 per hour. While travelling around Toledo, you’ll also notice green zones. These are reserved only for the residents and you’re prohibited to use them. 

There also exists a free car park that can be found in front of the main bus station. It is a convenient option for those who would like to exchange their vehicle for public transport for a while.
